Corals monitoring and surveys

This project aims to enhance data collection on the health of coral reefs in Western Indian Ocean and annexes, including Arabian gulf, UAE and Red Sea , Egypt and Saudi. Data is gathered through periodic field surveys and local and international training, utilizing advanced technologies such as underwater mobility and GPS. The project includes analyzing coral health, species diversity, environmental changes, and the spread of bleaching and diseases. New technologies such as underwater imaging with quadrats and collecting photos for AI use are integrated. The project faces challenges such as funding limitations, harsh environmental conditions, and special permit requirements from relevant authorities. The goal is to provide accurate data to improve coral reef conservation strategies and respond more effectively to environmental threats.
